It Could Always Be Worse...

Once a week, I tutor a girl from Harlem with other Business School students and students from the Law school. I love this 1 1/2 hours because I get to hang out with students from outside the MBA program. Don't get me wrong, I love my classmates but sometimes I get serious bouts of MBA suffocation from being around business-focused people 12 hours a day.

Anyway, I'm never complaining about this MBA thing again. Ever.*

I met a really cool girl from the law school. She reminds me of someone I know from back home, so I instantly bonded with her. Unfortunately, she was having a bad week. When I saw her this week, I asked her how the workload in law school was and she bursted into tears, right in front of me. That was a slightly awkward moment, but I felt so badly for her. Then I though to myself, "thank God I'm not a law student. Sheesh!"

Then she started describing law school, while still crying to me, and it didn't sound like anything I would willingly put myself through. I'd rather give up my left eye.

* That's a lie, but I'll hold off for a few weeks at least.

Comments:
Hopefully your new friend will feel better soon. Two of my friends just started UCLA Law School and they are hating life right now. Aren’t you glad you’re in bschool?

1) Tutoring at CBS! I could've put that into my application. Darn it.

2) I've read somewhere (I think that it was "How to Get Into the Top MBA Programs") that about half the folks who go to law school regret the decision.

Good luck!
