Day 1 of Spring Semester
School started up yesterday and it was insanely boring. However, it was nice catching up with people I haven't seen in a month and hear the stories of what everyone has been up to.
There is an air of relief over the entire class called, "banking recruiting is over." With (hopefully) offer(s) in hand, my classmates are were an ultra chilled-out mood. I literally heard multiple people say they didn't give a fuck about school anymore and I have a feeling others agree with that sentiment but might not have the jewels to vocalize it. After hearing what banking recruiting is like, I can see how anyone would feel that way.
In other news, I'm up to a little mischief with another Columbia-ite. More specifically, I'm on a mission to set her up with a good guy. I hope it goes well.

Not Missing School Yet
My break is more than half over... actually, I have about 10 days left and I do not miss school whatsoever. It's really nice to have this free time right now and see what life is like outside of Morningside Heights.
I've made some progress on my reading list too. So far I've read 'Never Eat Alone' and 'Freakonomics.' I loved Freakonomics. Any book that provides detailed insight into the economic workings of a crack gang is all right by me. That, and it sheds some light on my neighbors' lives. I couldn't put the book down, I found it so interesting and I really like the way it tries to plough through the B.S. we here from politicians and the news on a daily basis. So refreshing.
Never Eat Alone was helpful but it also contained a lot of common sense. It was motivating, however, because the main message it to push yourself to meet, and help, as many people as you can - all the time. I'm too cynical to jump into so many new relationships relationships with people but the author's point is well taken.
And I have 5 more books to read in 10 days... hmmm, now that seems slightly ambitious. Wish me luck.
